4 Baseball Training Aids You Need to Hit Like a Pro

We all know that practice makes perfect, but what kind of practice? The entire realm of baseball practice drills is so vast. So where do you start?

There are pitch back nets, baseball tees, hit-a-ways and so much more. I'm going to condense this list into what I feel is the best tools that you can use during practice to seriously up your batting game.

The following baseball hitting aids are my top picks to become a fantastic hitter. We all know that finding great equipment can really make a huge difference when it comes to your practices.

1

My number one pick for the best baseball hitting aid is the SKLZ Hit-A-Way portable swing trainer. I have seen this particular baseball swing training aid help my players excel in the best way possible. The best thing about this is that players get the opportunity to get in hundreds of reps over and over again.

We all know that repetition in baseball is one of the most important things to consider, which is why this is such a powerful tool.

The video above from SKLZ demonstrates just how powerful this baseball swing trainer is. The ability to rise and lower the pitch height can help a good batter become GREAT.

I think that my favorite thing about this is that you don't have to spend all day chasing baseballs around the field. Just set it up and go. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to practice hitting a baseball.

The next important piece of equipment that I'd like to point out is a practice net. The reason that these are important is similar to the option above. It allows you to get multiple hitting reps over and over again without having to chase a ball down.

This means more time hitting the baseball, less time shagging your hits.

These nets are no stranger to the practice field, either. MLB professionals use these types of nets in their pregame warm ups nearly every game.

If you're serious about becoming a better hitter, this is a must have.

The baseball tee has been a standard tool in the batting trainer arsenal for generations. This baseball hitting aid has always been in any player's arsenal.

You may have noticed that I opted in for the baseball tee with the rubber cone on top. The reason that I prefer the ones witht he rubber cone is because if you use a stiff rubber tee, they tend to fall over a lot. I spend most of my time picking up the tee rather than hitting the ball.

The rubber top bends and absorbs the shock from the bat.

This baseball tee makes a great addition to the net listed above.

The fantastic part about this setup is that it allows you to get a ton of reps in with standard baseballs as compared to the hit-a-way above.

It's good to switch up your batting practice every once in a while so that you can remain a versatile player.

Of course, what kind of practice would it be if you didn't have any baseballs to play with?

I like using the bucket of Rawling's baseballs whenever I have a practice session. It's much easier than carrying one baseball around, chasing it all day.

With the bucket of baseballs, it keeps it easy to get reps in, which is critical when you're on a time constraint. What's a list of the best baseball training aids without the main component?

Load the entire bucket into a hitting tee and swing away. The best way to become an elite hitter is to keep up the repetition.

Those are my top hitting aids for power and bat speed. I like using these tools at LEAST three times a week. It's important to keep the amount of reps you get high. That is the best way to ensure you're getting the best practice possible.

If you were to take one thing from this list, I would say that my all time favorite is the SKLZ Hit-A-Way listed at #1 on this list. It's absolutely one of the most powerful baseball swing trainers that you can get and I love having my team use it in their free time.
